hypai is an independent project with no company behind it and nothing to sell. Every tool we make is free for everyone, everywhere — it runs entirely on your own device and never asks for a payment, an account, or your data.

Our tools
We would rather maintain one thing properly than ship five things badly. There is no launch calendar and no quarterly target.

Four rules
we don't bend
Every tool is measured against these. If a feature cannot be built without breaking one, we do not build the feature.
Free, permanently
Not a trial, not a freemium ladder. Every feature ships unlocked, in every country, with no upgrade waiting behind it.
Local by design
Everything is computed inside your browser. Your data has no route out, because there is no server on the other end of it.
Zero tracking
No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no unique identifier. We do not know how many people use our tools, and that is fine.
Works everywhere
No region locks, no waitlists, no sign-in wall. If you can install a browser extension, the whole thing works.
No business
model
Free software usually has a catch — your attention, your data, or a subscription waiting a few months out. Here is exactly why ours does not.
Nothing to sell
Our tools make no network requests at all. Your reading history never reaches us, because it never leaves your browser — so there is no data set to package, sell, or lose.
Almost nothing to run
No servers, no databases, no cloud bill that grows with every new user. Free is not a phase we eventually have to grow out of.
No one to answer to
No investors to repay, no growth targets to hit, no board asking what the plan is. Success is simply whether the tool stays out of your way.
If that ever changes, you will read it here first — plainly, and before anything changes inside the product. Features that are free today will not move behind a paywall.

01Is X Read Marker really free?
Yes — completely, and permanently. There is no paid tier, no trial period, no locked feature and no in-app purchase. Every feature that exists today will stay free for everyone, in every country.
02Do you collect any data about me?
None. Our tools make no network requests at all, so nothing can be sent anywhere even in principle. Your settings and reading history are stored in your own browser. This website carries no analytics either.
03Then how is any of this funded?
It is not. hypai has no investors, no grants, no advertising and no donations. A tool that never contacts a server costs almost nothing to run, which is exactly why nothing has to be charged for.
04Will you start charging later?
Features that are free today will not move behind a paywall. If anything about how hypai operates ever changes, it will be written on this site first — with a date — and before anything changes inside a tool.
05Can I request a feature or report a bug?
Please do — write to support@hypai.org. Replies come from the person who wrote the code. There is no support queue and no ticket number.
